Keep Positive!

Keeping a positive attitude is not an easy task especially living in this world where so much negativity is shoved down our throats on a daily basis making it easy for us to drown in it. It's also easy to overlook the good in front of us because of all the attention given to negativity. It's like we feed on negative energy. But there are ways to keep on the positive track.

Make your own happiness
Get rid of the negative people, things, and atmospheres in your life. Just get rid of it. Some of those negative aspects are family and friends: always putting you down, always saying no you can't. I am not saying to shun them away by any means but stop hanging around with them so much, limit your time with them. Surround yourself with positive people, things, and atmospheres and it will brush off on you. We are social animals, we are affected by our surroundings, make that change and it will help immensely. Do things that make you happy, a hobby, a part-time job doing what you like, or even volunteering in something you believe in. There are plenty of things to make you feel good with yourself but most importantly you must be happy with yourself.

Know what you want. See your future, be your future
It takes time to truly figure out what it is that we want to do or have in life. I only realized recently what I wanted to do, where I wanted to be. I first had to figure out what my purpose is in life, that question does not have to be spiritual but it's an important question. By knowing your role at home, work, and in your community, you will know what positive values that you want to possess. If you visualize where and what you truly want to be, in lets say 5 years from now, you will find a way to make it happen. You will sit down and figure out how to make it happen. Note that I said figure out, not try or attempt but actually doing it. Believing in it can happen and not letting yourself into doubt and hesitation, is what will take you there. Set a goal and do what ever it takes, as long as it's legal, to make it happen. Set long and short term goals and keep track of it. Remember what I said earlier about staying around positive people, those people will end up being your support group. Pushing you on and rooting for you. Also print some photographs of what you want or were you want to be, or set it up as a desktop images, it could be an image of Hawaii or a house that you love. Focus on those images ever day, thinking of your plan, and taking action on that plan one step at a time.

Don't give up
Look, this isn't easy. If it was, there would be a whole lot of wealthy, happy, fulfilled people in this world. There will be mishaps, there will be roadblocks but you can not let yourself falter. These are all learning experiences. These bumps will help you learn how to maneuver better on the road. Accept them and grow from them. Don't regret, everything happens for a reason. Even if you caused the error, you learn from it and move on, forward.  It will make you wiser and enable you to combat other challenges.

Self talk
Sometimes you will need to look in the mirror and say. "Yes I can, yes I will." You will have to be confident in yourself and push yourself. Like I said earlier life in a negative world, which in turn makes us negative people, you have to break free from that negativity and push positive thoughts in your head. Focus on that goal, be it going to Hawaii or growing your business. Envision yourself on that beach or you in your office making phone calls. And tell yourself over and over again, "I will get there, what ever it takes, I will get there, I am not scared, I will not falter." Even though you will have people in your court (other positive minded individuals rooting you on) you must be the main fan of yourself.

Live for today
You only have one life to live, enjoy it. Don't sit in the past or focus too much on the future, because tomorrow, today won't exist and yesterday is unchangeable, so just learn from it and move on. Live in the now. Enjoy today!

Be optimistic
Okay, just because you are optimistic doesn't only mean you are hopeful and confident about the future it also means that you view your surroundings to see how you can maximize your strengths and achievements and minimize your weaknesses and apprehensions.  You will actively work on making things happen instead of a pessimist who tend to see the worst aspect of things or believe that the worst will happen. And you know what, people who see things that way cause those negative things to happen in their life instead of finding a way out.

These steps aren't easy, like I said before if it was everyone would be wealthy, happy, and fulfilled in life and it can't happen in a day. It takes time to actively work on changing your life, your way of thinking, and the things that surround you. But it's not impossible. Just keep looking that photograph and in that mirror and keep telling yourself "I will get there, what ever it takes, I will get there, I am not scared, I will not falter."
